First Holy Communion Contact: Cindy Barr Ph.: 479-783-7745 email: cbarr@ctkparishfs.com The risen Jesus is present with us at Mass. He shares with us the gift of his Body and Blood. At Mass, we receive the gift of the Body and Blood of Christ in Holy Communion. Sharing Holy Communion joins us more closely with Jesus Christ and with all the members of His church. We are made one with Jesus and with each other. Preparation for First Holy Communion is a 2-year process . Children are required to have attended Catholic School or a Parish Religious Education Program for two consecutive years before they make their First Communion. Children who do not attend Christ the King Catholic School should attend the Parish Religious Classes on Sundays from 10:00-11:30 AM. Call the church office at 783-7745 if you have questions.

School Technology Fund As a school, we prioritize having beneficial technology available to our students to help enhance their educational experience. Our fourth through fifth graders have a 1:1 Chromebook use. Our preschool – third-grade students have use of iPad learning centers in the classroom and access to an iPad cart equipped with a classroom set of iPads. Our classrooms kindergarten through fifth grades use SmartBoard technology to enhance teaching instruction. All of our students attend a technology specialty class to learn skills appropriate for their age. We would like to thank our previous Technology Partners that helped us create a rich environment of enhanced learning at CTK. We hope to continue to offer these wonderful elements at our school with your help. Who can receive Confirmation? In the Catholic Church, anyone that has been baptized properly can and should be confirmed. What is Catholic Confirmation? Confirmation is a Sacrament in the Catholic Church in which the one who is confirmed (confirmandi) receives the gifts of the Holy Spirit through the imposition of hand and anointing with oils by the bishop. It’s considered a sacrament of initiation which means that it brings you deeper into communion with the Church. Who administers Confirmation? Bishops are the original ministers of Confirmation along with other Catholic sacraments (Lumen Gentium 26). Call the church office at 783-7745 if you have questions.

Listen Here Title: The Dinner Dance Eucharist is a central mystery within Catholicism. While there are many aspects of Eucharist that are important within the Church – including sacrifice, the role of the priesthood, the forgiveness of sins, a sacred meal – we will approach the role of Eucharist from the perspective of building the Body of Christ, which some theologians argue is the foundational principle of all Eucharistic theology. We will explore the mystery of Eucharist by focusing on how the meals within the Gospel of Luke call us to live an authentic Christian life. During the final two sessions of the retreat we look at how Christ is present at the mass and how Jesus' death saves us.
